Description
This beautiful prominent building was built in 1898 and put into use in 1909 as the very famous Hotel de Ville. The French colonial style architecture is one of the biggest, oldest, and most beautiful structures in Saigon. After the fall of South Vietnam, this magnificent iconic building was soon taken over by the government and renamed Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building. The Statute across the street is that of Ho Chi Minh. It is guarded 24 hour by guards and it always has fresh flowers adorning the statute. The red Vietnam flag ads the flare to the structure.
